There has
never been a documented case of an STD being transmitted by a toilet seat does
little to dispel the discomfort that most people feel about using a public
restroom. The possibility of contracting a disease from a toilet seat is
theoretically possible,
but extremely unlikely
but extremely unlikely
A study
of 72 public toilets published in the “New England Journal of Medicine found no
gonorrhoea on any public toilet seat. The author conclude that the toilet sit
was not an important risk for gonorrhoea transmission. According to the centre
for disease control and prevention syphilis cannot be transmitted by a toilet
seat at all
Public
rest rooms like all public places, present risk of infectious disease. But
those risk are not from toilet sits. Surfaces you touch with your hands – the flush
handle on the toilet, the water faucet handle on the sink, the doorknob on
entering or exiting the restroom can be contaminated with germs
Here’s
the thing: as long as you have a healthy
immune system and you wash your hands after you use the bathroom, you should be fine. After all, if it
were that easy to catch a serious disease from a toilet seat, we’d all be
walking around with these diseases, right
Trust me toilets are not the number one thing
you need to be worried about. If you are stressed over germs, make sure you
stay hygienic – wash your hands after you go to the toilet and carry around
hand sanitizer. And remember, in general the only time you should be worried about
STD or STI is when you are having sex without condom
Yeah it is mostly transmitted through sexual intercourse.
